A Tour Of Stockholm

Greg has booked our first tour in Stockholm:

A Day in Stockholm

This is a tour that comprehensively and conveniently covers the main sights of Stockholm. Begin with a drive up to Fjällgatan for a splendid panoramic view of the inner city and harbor of Stockholm. Passing through the southern residential district of Södermalm, drive west along Söder Mälarstrand to cross the Western Bridge spanning Riddarfjärden and offering extensive views of the city skyline en route to the City Hall. Known locally as Stadshuset, it is renowned for its architecture, the two courtyards and the numerous splendid halls, the most famous of these being the Blue Hall, where the Nobel festivities unfold each year and the Golden Hall renowned for its’ mosaics. Continue through the city center to the nearby island of Djurgården, to visit the Vasa Museum built around the 17th century warship raised from Stockholm’s inner harbor and painstakingly restored.

You will then have time for lunch on your own and at your own expense, choosing from one of the many cafés and restaurants that can be found in the city center. Following your free period, join your guide and return to the heart of the Stockholm and Gamla Stan, the enchanting, medieval Old Town where you will visit the Coronation Church followed by a short walk through the charming, narrow streets before returning to the ship.

Note: Lunch is not included in this tour; however, there is time for lunch and shopping on your own. You should have currency exchanged before leaving the ship. Guests must be able to walk approximately 1 mile over uneven and cobblestone surfaces with inclines and 20 to 40 steps. Comfortable walking shoes are recommended.

Exciting!!!
